Respite for Older Carers

Respite is all about getting a break. Whether you are a person with a disability, or a carer, getting some good quality time away from each other can be like recharging your batteries!

Many adults with a disability from migrant backgrounds live at home in the care of their parent or sibling. The Respite for Older Carers Program supports families to continue with these living arrangements and also to plan for future options as carers age.

Am I eligible?

If you:

  • Are a carer aged 60 years or over
  • Care for a person with a disability
  • Are from a migrant background
  • Live in North or West Metropolitan Melbourne

 

You may be eligible to join our Respite for Older Carers program.

 

How do I apply?

Contact Spectrum’s Disability Services and we will talk with you about your needs and put in a proposal to the Department of Human Services.
