You Can Do I Can Do (documentary)
Dreams, passions and obstacles in the world of disabilities. The documentary You Can Do I Can Do provides an insight into the daily lives of three people with disabilities, their older carers and their Spectrum MRC support workers. We follow their passions, explore their philosophies on life and share their struggles as they pursue hopes and dreams for the future. Families are drawn from Fijian/Indian, Macedonian and Maltese backgrounds.
The documentary You Can Do I Can Do, launched by the Parliamentary Secretary for Disability, Bill Shorten, showcases Spectrum’s innovative multicultural and disability care approach.
The documentary was filmed over a period of 6 months and the script was developed in collaboration with the ‘actors’, Mustapha Khan, Lisa Azzopardi and Snezana Pejcinovska. Both state and federal governments funded the project to raise awareness of Spectrum MRC’s best practice, as well as increase utilisation of disability services amongst migrant communities.
