This position is for an initial period of 6 months.

About the Role

Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre was established almost 25 years ago to provide services and support to migrants and refugees in the Northern region. We are a non-profit organisation with almost 200 culturally diverse staff working from 6 main locations in the North.

We are looking for a highly skilled Executive Assistant to work closely with the CEO to ensure the smooth functioning of all CEO and Board of Management activities and to provide a customer-focused, responsive service to everyone in contact with the CEO’s office.

This position requires a highly organized, capable professional who is flexible and able to respond quickly to changing circumstances and priorities. In addition to being highly skilled in the administrative area, you’ll need well developed relationship and influencing skills and be able to work in a collaborative way with staff across the organisation.

The key objectives of this position are:

  • To provide high level administrative and executive support to the CEO and Board of Management.
  • To undertake projects and research on behalf of CEO.
  • To provide high level assistance to the CEO on all tender related activities, ensuring that quality submissions are submitted on time.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

· Relevant tertiary qualifications and considerable experience providing high level executive support.

· A strong customer focused approach and being able to both anticipate, understand and meet the needs of the CEO and Board of Management.

· Sound understanding of current technology and modern administrative systems and proven results in streamlining and improving systems.

· Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and high level interpersonal skills in working with diverse people across a range of disciplines and backgrounds

· Ability to quickly master a new brief, synthesize or become familiar with new information or new innovation(s)

· An understanding and interest in migrant and refugee issues.

· Flexibility and an ability to respond to tight timelines and new issues with little prior notice. This requires someone being comfortable changing their planned schedule and being able to reschedule activities at short notice.

· A positive, helpful disposition and a sense of humour!
