Whilst the standard hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm, the successful candidate is required to work flexible hours with some late nights and occasional weekend work. There will be times when the incumbent is required beyond 5.00pm to finish key tasks or for Board activities or organisational events. Time in lieu is granted for all additional hours worked and can be taken flexibly. |
| About the Role |
Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre is a non-profit organisation that provides services to migrants and refugees including education, settlement related support, immigration, aged care and assistance with employment. We are looking for a talented, community-minded professional to provide high level executive support to the CEO and Board. This isn't a traditional PA role.....there will be lots of variety and flexibility and opportunities to contribute to new innovations and tender preparations. Ensuring that the CEO's diary is well organised and that key organisational activities are well coordinated and planned will be your responsibility, as will all the Board activities from agendas, minutes, meetings and events. This role will ideally suit someone who's passionate about this sector and keen to learn as much as they can about best practice in service design and delivery for migrants and refugees. Of course, you'll also need to be skilled in administration and IT and have outstanding interpersonal skills to gain the support and cooperation from those around you! In terms of approach, we're looking for someone with loads of initiative, who is flexible, self-sufficient and enjoys change! You'll need to be comfortable adjusting plans and changing priorities, as Spectrum is a dynamic and adaptive organisation that is able to respond quickly to new opportunities and external changes. | Requirements |
· Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant experience. · A strong customer focused approach and being able to both anticipate, understand and meet the needs of the CEO and Board of Management. · Sound understanding of current technology and modern administrative systems and proven results in streamlining and improving systems. · Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and high level interpersonal skills in working with diverse people across a range of disciplines and backgrounds · Ability to quickly master a new brief, synthesize or become familiar with new information or new innovation(s) · Highly proficient in all MS Office applications and the ability to present information in the most appropriate format for the audience. · Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing in a challenging environment · A high level of initiative and being willing and able to go the extra mile when needed. · Be aware of, or have an interest in migrant and refugee issues. · Flexibility and an ability to respond to tight timelines and new issues with little prior notice. This requires someone being comfortable changing their planned schedule and being able to reschedule activities at short notice. · A positive, helpful disposition and a sense of humour! |
