| About the Role |
- To provide culturally appropriate home support to frail older migrants and refugees and those with a disability living in the northern region of Melbourne (or other regions as specified), to assist them to maximize their quality of life through the provision of practical support and social and emotional wellbeing.
- To provide respite to carers of frail aged from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

| Requirements |
Essential
- Commitment to culturally sensitive home based care of frail older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.
- Ability to speak another language relevant to the populations living in the northern metropolitan region (and other regions as specified).
- Capacity to relate well and enjoy caring for older people and people with a disability
- Capacity to treat frail older migrants, people with a disability and their family members with respect
- Commitment to working in the home and community care field
- Drivers license , car and mobile phone
- Capacity to read street maps/Melways
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Other Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Qualification in Certificate 111 Aged Care or Home and Community Care
- Prior experience in home support work with frail aged or people with a disability
- Knowledge/experience/skills in supporting older people living with dementia
