With over 25 years experience providing services and support to migrants and refugees, our Aged & Disability Team provide the whole spectrum of care to ageing migrants and their carers including home and personal care, respite services, planned activity groups and social support programs. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced program leader to manage our award winning carer respite program based in Preston. In 2008 the program won the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in recognition of our unique service model that meets the specific needs of migrant elders and their families. The program has been established to support working carers to remain in the workplace, using a PAG model for migrant elders with language and cultural matching of workers. It operates 7 days per week from 8.30am to 5.00pm, including transport. We currently support 4 CALD groups (Macedonian, Chinese, Vietnamese and Italian) and the program includes cultural activities and authentic ethnic food. We're looking for someone who: * is passionate and experienced working with elders and ideally experienced in dementia * is flexible and able to respond to changing client and program needs * can motivate, develop and build a strong team * is creative, looks outside the square and is willing to trial new activities and programs * has a genuine interest in working with migrant families and an understanding of the issues facing older migrants accessing services Click on the link below for a copy of the job description Job Description 92.00 kB |
