Spectrum Immigration Services (SIS) is a pioneering non-profit, but fee-charging, community immigration legal service established by the Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre. SIS has developed a strong reputation and is meeting a demand in the community for a low-cost alternative for high-quality immigration legal advice, for both migrants and refugees, as well as employers. Established nearly two years ago, it is experiencing massive growth and needs a Practice Manager to drive this.

You will have senior experience as a Migration Agent/Lawyer and have the ability to lead a team of dedicated legal staff with the knowledge and expertise to deliver successful case outcomes, as well as foster business growth. You will be an autonomous self-starter with first-rate written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you will possess strong organisational skills, business nous and be just as passionate when you’re assisting migrants as you are with employers.

• Tertiary qualifications in law and full practicing certificate and/or current registration with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA);
• Significant and recent experience in applying immigration law, across varying visa types;
• Proven team leadership ability and the capabilities to manage a social enterprise;
• Proven ability to achieve targets and budgets;
• Experience in public speaking and promotion;
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills;
• Cross cultural understanding and competence;
• Excellent computer skills in order to prepare reports, analyse statistics and meet the administrative requirements of the role;
• Understanding of, and commitment to addressing social justice and equity principles as it relates to particular migrants and humanitarian entrants.
