| About the Role |
· 2-3 days per week (flexible) · $35 per hour · Based in Broadmeadows The Second Chance Book-keeping Project aims to provide employment pathways and reduce the barriers faced by many unemployed overseas-born or overseas-qualified book-keepers, who lack English literacy, business communication skills, an understanding of the Australian job market and recruitment process and/or Australian field experience. The Project will assist in the acculturation of the jobseeker and provide job competency monitoring and assessment, with the following aims and objectives: 1. Consolidate the knowledge and experience of overseas-qualified book-keepers with curriculum which establishes the key competencies required in MYOB within an Australian small to medium business context; 2. Provide an induction to Australian workplace culture to improve their business communication skills; 3. Increase their literacy, specific to the book-keeping field, to improve their employability; & 4. Provide job-search training, covering resume writing, interviews and job market trends. The key objectives of this position are: · Co-ordinate stakeholders’ involvement in the development, promotion and successful completion of this pilot project; · Develop the curriculum and activities for a 7 week course (conducted over 3 days of 5 hours per day/ 15 hours per week) and cover the aforementioned four project objectives; · Where necessary, engage subject matter experts and/or trainers to assist in the course development and course delivery; · Promote the project, via stakeholders to gain suitable participants; · Undertake all co-ordination and administrative responsibilities associated with the successful promotion, conduct, finalisation around the required documentation and reporting of the project. Ideally we’re looking for a Project Coordinator that can undertake all aspects of this role, however we are willing to supplement parts of the project with other specialists (eg: job-search training).
