About the Role

“RTO WITH A DIFFERENCE”

  • CALD specific vocational training
  • Make a difference & make your mark!
  • $75k (neg) package

As a specialist provider of services to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, Spectrum MRC identified the need for culturally appropriate training and assessment for CALD clients and hence the establishment of Spectrum Education and Training (SET) in June 2007. SET is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with a specific emphasis on:

· high quality training and assessment services;

· developing culturally tailored material for its own courses; &

· documenting and training other providers in best practice CALD teaching and assessment methodologies.

We’re looking for a Manager to lead the continued establishment and growth of this important social enterprise. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring together your passion for helping migrants, your vocational training experience, proven business skills and your entrepreneurial spirit. The Manager will be responsible for:

— Providing strategic leadership and effective operational management of a specialist CALD RTO, with a focus on quality learning outcomes for students and targeted growth of SET;

— Developing a best practice model of vocational training for CALD students and to be recognised within the sector as a leader of CALD training;

— Continually reviewing and improving quality systems and ensure compliance with AQTF standards for registered training organisations; &

— Actively scanning the external environment for new trends, developments and opportunities and preparing the Centre to be able to quickly respond to these new opportunities.

We’re searching for a special person….someone who considers themselves an all-rounder with a pioneering spirit and who sees possibilities, rather than obstacles. You’ll be rewarded with making a difference in people’s lives – catering for students who are often neglected by, let down by or placed in the “too-hard basket” by the mainstream training sector. You will still be close to your original training passion and get to see the collective joy from the empowering step of gaining knowledge, skills and eventual employment. For migrants and refugees, getting a job is the most pivotal step to their social and economic (re)integration into Australian society and you get to lead a Centre playing a part in this crucial step.
