This exciting new part time role will be part of our Youth Services Team, working with CALD young people in the Northern Suburbs. This outreach role will provide casework, facilitate community development projects and foster stronger links with other youth agencies and services to support refugee young people in the Northern suburbs.

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in youth work, social work/psychology or related disciplines and experience in the area of migrant settlement or a related human services sector;
• Proven casework management skills and ability to establish an appropriate casework outreach services responsive to refugee young people
• Demonstrate knowledge of refugee youth settlement, assessment and needs identification.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including skills in addressing groups and public speaking
• Well developed community development and networking and skills
• High developed ability to facilitate youth groups and youth group programs
• Computer skills, including proficiency Microsoft Office suite of programs
• Current Victorian Driver’s License and access to own vehicle for work purposes

Desirable

• Training / Facilitation experience and / or Certificate IV in Workplace Training
• A relevant community language reflecting the languages spoken by recent refugee youth arrivals
