Location Preston

About the Role
  • Do you love coaching & growing people?
  • Want a management role that still involves hands on work with communities?
  • Work part time and keep your life in balance!

Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre (SMRC) has 25 years experience working with migrants and refugees to successfully settle and participate in all aspects of community life. Over the past years, our programs have expanded to include innovative parenting, men and family relationship programs and a range of youth initiatives. There’s a lot more that we can do to ensure that families and young people have culturally responsive services that help them better adjust to their new lives in Australia.

This is a new and exciting position for our organisation and will work closely with Settlement Team Leaders to ensure that we continue to lead the way in the design, delivery and coordination of services for migrants and refugees. Our programs make a real difference to the lives of newly arrived families by:

  • Reducing social isolation for men and women;
  • Connecting young people through sport and recreational activities;
  • Reducing conflict between parents and teenagers who are juggling two cultures;
  • Providing leadership opportunities and a voice for young people;
  • Helping to better understand Australian laws and culture.

We’re looking for a qualified and experienced family services leader with a passion for enhancing the services and opportunities for migrants and refugees. This is a part time role (0.8 EFT) for an initial 12 month contract, linked to funding.
