Spectrum MRC is a specialist provider of services to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and identified the need for culturally tailored methods for training and assessment of CALD clients. Our distinguishing factors are that our Courses
SET aims to develop a strong reputation within the sector as a unique RTO not aiming to compete with other RTOs but specialising in catering for this gap in the market. We also aim to incorporate industry input to ensure our Courses reflect current market trends. Predominantly, SET’s courses have been referrals from its Job Network, Spectrum Employment Services, and the MRC’s own clientele in Home and Community Care (HACC), Children’s Services, Community Services Work (Childcare & Aged Care), with the latter being held concurrently with the Certificate II in General Education for Adults to allow our students to simultaneously develop their literacy and numeracy. Recently, we have begun offering a combined Aged Care & HACC Course as a traineeship course to providers with Aged Care staff. For migrants and refugees, getting a job is the most pivotal step to their social and economic (re)integration into Australian society and as a Trainer / Assessor you get to play a key role in this!
