May 2008 Congratulations to Tina Hosseini, the SMRC Ethnic Youth Council Vice-Chair who won the Victorian State finals of the Multiple District (MD201) Leo of the Year Quest. She was then awarded runner-up in the national MD201 Leo of the Year Quest. The Leo of the Year Quest aims to develop and encourage the qualities of Leadership, Experience and Opportunity and select a fine ambassador for the Leos of Australia and PNG. Leo club members are between the ages of 12 and 28. Like the members of their sponsoring Lions club, Leo club members volunteer to serve their communities. November 2007 Presented at the Victorian Government House. The Awards program recognises and rewards the contribution of individuals and organisations in the promotion of Victoria’s multicultural harmony. The organisation was recognized for its innovative work and having achieved significant milestones in the areas of settlement and multicultural affairs. |

May 2007 Presented at the Innovation & Excellence in Primary Health Care Conference. Providing high quality care through the delivery of effective and appropriate services is the central aim of public healthcare organisations. Drawing on evidence to do the right thing for the right person at the right time is an essential element of quality care. This award recognises initiatives associated with tailoring care and services to the needs of individuals and communities to produce demonstrable health benefits.
