LEADERSHIP
The Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre is governed by a voluntary Board of Management, which is made up of 7 elected and 7 co-opted members. Our Board Members are individuals who bring skills from a variety of fields – academia, accounting, auditing, finance, health, IT, legal, local government – from the community and business sectors, both locally and internationally. They are passionate about improving the lives of migrants and refugees settling in Australia.

John Unger (Chairperson) was co-opted to the Board in June 2006 and elected in December to serve as Chairperson for 2007/08. John is currently working at KPMG Migration but has held positions within the Department of Immigration, the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet and was seconded to the Office of the UNHCR. John has helped with the development of the new migration advisory service starting in 2007 and looks forward to carrying on his work on the Board in the coming years. |

Thomas Ling (Vice-Chairperson) has been a member of the SMRC BOM since 2000. A Business Logistic Migration Consultant, Thomas hopes to contribute to the integration of newly arrived immigrants in the community and enhance best practice at the SMRC in providing services to the migrants in Australia. Thomas believes his financial and management skills will contribute to ensuring the SMRC enjoys longevity and continues to provide critical services to migrants and refugees. |

Sumith Perera (Treasurer) was co-opted to the Board at the start of 2005 as a co-opted member to assist the Board in overseeing the financial policies and administration systems. He is the Treasurer of the SMRC and part of the Executive Committee. Sumith is a Chartered Accountant and currently works at Hall & Wilcox Lawyers as their Chief Operating Officer. |

Mayada Dib (Secretary) was elected to the Board in December 2006. She is a Barrister with over 15 years of legal experience and has contributed to the Board with respect to legal and governance issues. |

Sarah Hayton (Public Officer) was elected to the Board in 2006. She is a qualified solicitor who is also involved in Governance training in indigenous communities. Sarah hopes to contribute in several areas of services delivery including education, legal & employment as well as the broader issues of Governance. She is committed to ensuring that people of CALD backgrounds have equitable and informed access to services within the community. |

Dr. Lucas Walsh (Board member) was co-opted to the Board in 2007. Lucas has worked in commercial, academic and not-for-profit environments. He has held a number of Research Fellowships in the areas of cultural diversity, new media and education and currently works for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. His expertise has proven invaluable to Spectrum, particularly in the development of its IT strategy, education and training services. |

Chris Hoh (Board member) was co-opted to the Board in 2007. As a management consultant who specializes in IT strategy and business planning for Deloitte, Chris contributes his expertise in these areas to SMRC. His extensive experience in IT has proven to be invaluable to the organization in assisting with the development and planning of IT systems and infrastructure. |
