FREE Citizenship Course
SPECTRUM CALLS ON POTENTIAL CITIZENS TO DO FREE COURSE TO ASSIST WITH TEST

Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre (SMRC) is encouraging potential citizenship applicants to
come forward and undertake courses to prepare for the Australian citizenship test.
SMRC has been announced as a provider of the Federal Government’s Citizenship Support Grants Program (CSGP). The Citizenship course will start on 4th August, 2008. Anyone who holds
Australian Permanent residence with basic knowledge of English language can undertake this
Citizenship Course.
Funded by the Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC), the course will be held over
either a 3 day period (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday) or all day Saturdays and will cover:
• an explanation of some important parts of the Citizenship Test – for example
o the responsibilities and privileges of Australian citizenship
o Australian values
o traditions
o history
o national symbols
• a citizenship test tutorial
• basic computer skills training for the test
All participants will be assisted for booking and Citizenship applications
